For complete playlist, click READ MORE below Signature was a show made after our homage to Moraes Moreira and we start it with some songs from the year 1972 that we couldn't fit in CAS 508 due the usual problem: time. But the songs were very good and deserved to be featured ASAP! The first half hour is completed by a little section about a conductor and producer essential to the Tropicalis movement: a guy called Rogério Duprat. Now kind of an unsung hero, most of the peculiarities and orchestral arrangements in classics by Tropicália that you love came from his pen...
...Also special in this show is a whole chunk showing songs by the kids from Volta Redonda, all released in recent weeks, such as Pai Guga, A.X.L., Leandro Vilela and Hugo....
To top it up we have a whole section of rock, then a section of hip-hop, soul and R'n'B and there you have it: once again, a magic couple of hours to make your day happier, brought to you by the Caipirinha Appreciation Society. Our vids of the week are: O CORPO SABE in Pai Guga demo 2020 With all the Covid19 drama, musicians and artists are having a hard time, and in times like these the best thing to do is to relax and create. Pai Guga (from Amplexos) had plans to release a solo album, but with pandemic restrictions his plans were delayed. To stick to creating, he made this sweet video promo. Some songs are still nameless, some you heard before in the CAS shows and the last one (O Corpo Sabe with A.X.L.) is in this episode of the CAS. 01. TRAVESSIA 02. 01/07 SEM TÍTULO [pai Guga] 03. 02/07 SEM TÍTULO [pai Guga] 04. 03/07 SEM TÍTULO [pai Guga] 05. O CORPO SABE [pai Guga/A.X.L] Sá, Rodrix & Guarabira - Hoje Ainda é Dia de Rock Highly praised in the rock scene of the 70s and composers of historic jingles for commercials, Sá, Rodrix and Guarabira reformed the trio at the beginning of the 21st century to show young generations what they were all about. They kept playing until the death of singer Zé Rodrix. Here they present one of their classics, Hoje Ainda É dia de Rock, from 1972 Karina Buhr and Teresa Cristina - Plástico Bolha If you are anxious, stressed and restless you probably know the therapeutic value of a square meter of bubble wrap! Popping its cells one by one, listening to the 'pops' as you slowly calm down... This song, here performed by Karina with the valuable help of Teresa Cristina, proves that riot girls and samba girls are united in the urge to burst and pop their problems away with no guilt. Dani Black - Linha Tênue One of the few live recording of this song by singer, guitar player and composer Dani Black, where he has a band by his side to show the pop credentials of this song. GREGGÓRIO - Ginga e Melanina Rapper Greggório, here singing this track produced by Beatbass High Tech featuring Thiago Elniño, Natache e DJ Josafá. In this music video we can see some faces of the Volta Redonda cultural movement and artists we play in both Caipirinha shows. Can you spot them? Baianos de Outrora - Norton Morozowicz e Orquestra Sinfônica da UEL In spite of Rogerio Duprat's importance in Brazilian music during the 60s-70s, it is very difficult to find a recording of a live performance with him conducting one of his projects. He had many albums released but, apart from his partnership with the revolutionary mind of his times, his own work was not very easy to put on commercial TV shows. So I found this little homage that Norton Morozowicz made to the maestro, playing a pot pourri of the most popular songs that Duprat arranged for the 'Baianos', namely Caetano Veloso ("Baby", "Alegria, Alegria" e "Tropicália"); e Gilberto Gil ("Domingo no Parque") All that right below the complete playlist for CAS 509 !
